I'm AynsleyMy name is Aynsley Smith and I am originally from Brooklin, Ontario. I first started my teaching career working within the Durham District School Board. After teaching for one year I decided to move to Singapore to teach within an IB international school. I have been teaching Grade 5 for the last 5 years.
I feel very lucky as my class is a one-to-one iPad classroom. Students are asked to bring their personal iPads to class everyday. I enjoy teaching here as the class sizes are low (capped at 24), I teach students from all over the world, the school spends money on technology and parents are very involved in making sure they can help the best they can from home. Having access to unlimited technology sometimes makes me feel that I am not utilizing it to it's full potential. Some of the teachers at school look to me for advice/support and I am enjoying this new role. I want to feel confident and knowledgeable, hence my new journey on attaining my Masters in Educational Technology. Being in South East Asia has allowed me to travel to some amazing places. Some of my favourites include Japan, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos. |
